Sorry things have been quiet around these parts. Saw this on the road the other day, so creepy.

Cyclocross season kicked of in SoCal last weekend and I was in full heckle-and-beer mode under the Mudfoot tent. I am not racing myself this year as I have been focusing 100% on XC mountain bike racing, and my first race since my horrible Cat 2 finish earlier this year is this Sunday. I am a bit nervous, but mostly excited to get out there and rip out. Skinksuit is being dusted off as I type this. This photo is of my buddy Jonny Weir catching some air over the hips on the course. Cowbell!

This here is “The Dude” dubbed by my friend Erica and I … he is a local coyote up in Griffith Park who I see every day on my lunch ride. The first time I saw this scrawny feller walking in the middle of the road, I didn’t think much of it. But then I starter seeing him every day at the same spot, almost as if we were on the same schedule. He started cautiously approaching me, staying off to the side of the road still trying to figure me out, and I did the same. Now he sees me coming around the bend we meet at, and makes his way as if greeting me. This photo was from yesterday … the dude was on my wheels for a few feet as I was trying to get a photo of him (see my instagram @333f to see my daily photos of the The Dude). A bond of some sort? Maybe. Tailwind!
