Been busy riding as much as possible, got a new job, got my cross bike tuned up. So stoked on it all. Check out my flickr and my strava for boring stuff.
How about Le Tour? Need to catch up on a couple of stages … need some beers.

The ATOC just wrapped up and I had the experience of riding up Stage 7 with a bunch of friends to watch the race come through a KOM point. We packed beers and food, and rode up to the Rapha bus where we saw old friends and made some new ones. Thought it would be fun to carry on the spirit of cyclocross with some dollar handups for the PRO’s … actually had two riders (one of them, of course, was Chris Jones from Rapha) go for it. So fun. Check out my photos here.
You know you have the right tool when you no longer want to replace it. Paul Smith ffoto stop. I haven’t really taken any pictures of the IF since I acquired it last year. It has seen a season of racing is SoCal and the PNW and is currently in commuter mode. I love this bike. Specs: Independent Fabrication Planet X (titanium) circa 2008/9, Edge composites fork, Chris King headset and hubset, Thomson seapost and custom drilled stem to eliminate hanger, Mavic ceramic Open Pro rims, SRAM Rival shifters/crankset, Force RD, Red ti cage FD, PDW takeout basket, Yankosaurusrex saddle bag, Gentle Lovers team issue Cateye Strada, Brooks honey leather bar wrap, Spooky carbon brakes. While most American’s were glued to the TV watching the Super-something on Sunday, a few fellow Mudfooters and I departed on a magical cyclocross ride in Orange County (Laguna Coast Wilderness to be exact). Perfect weather in the 70’s, some awesome (and at times kicker) fireroads, dropped down into flowy singletrack and ended the ride at Pacific Coast Highway for some delicious tacos at Taco Loco (click here for some Yelpage). Had some kids call me a “f*g” because of my pink Rapha jersey, which I thought was pretty funny. Don’t let the bastards get you down, that’s the way I try to look at it. Big ringed down PCH back to Costa Mesa to end the ride. Check out my photos here.
Went to the Midwest. Rode lots of trails. Frigid temperatures, frozen dirt, frozen limbs, but so much fun. Here’s to a great New Year. Cheers.
